clutch problems in my truck?

Hello,
I bought a truck only 2 months ago, and now it has started making noises when the clutch is pressed. It sounds almost like the gears are grinding together. If I let out the clutch to the release point it stops.
The truck is a 1994 Chevy Z71 with 4wd and 5spd tranny w/70k.
Do you think it is the clutch (since it doesn't do this when the clutch not pressed in) or do I have other tranny problems? Maybe the throwout bearing?

thanks,
Charlie
