Clutch Problem Need help ASAP!

Ive got the Spec 3 clutch/flywheel in, the new 01 slave cylinder bled, but the trans will not go back onto the bell housing at all. The slave throw out bearing is right agaisnt the pressure plate. The trans is like 1inch away from being able to get the bolts into the bellhousing. As hard as i push/pull on the trans it wont seat againts the bell housing. Its like the slave cylinder throw out bearing needs to be compressed more to be able to get the trans and bellhousing to mate up so i can get the bolts in to pull the two together. Spent the last hour on this!!! PLEASE help!!!!

are you sure the splines are matching up on the input shaft?

can you compress the piston on the slave?

sounds like it's just an alignment problem. i had no problems getting things to slide in. now the last 1/2" or so i had to use 3 bolts tightened in a pattern to draw the trans into the bellhousing, but i was able to get it pretty close by hand.

you've got to lick it...before we kick it
you've got to get it good and wet before you stick it
