Clutch problem, anybody else have this one???
Clutch problem, anybody else have this one???
I rebuilt my trans last week and on the build table also in the car with it off the trans shifts threw every gear fine... Well you go to start the car and the damn thing will not go into gear... I left the shift lockout on the 1st to 3rd brass piece out of the trans because I have the shift skip eleminator installed so I dont think that is my problem... I know that the clutch was pushed while the trans was out of the car so I replaced the slave... I replace the slave, master, throwout bearing, and pilot bearing as well... I blead everything on the table and installed it... Still same problem the slave only starts to move then it seems to bypass... Clutch pedal is firm...If i put a vacuum on it I get air but I know for sure that there was none in it before I installed it... Also I have put a vacuum on this thing for hours and hours so I know its got a leak somewhere... So tomorrow Im thinking I will take it all apart and have a new line made up pre-bleed everything but while they are making up the new line I was going to have them drill and tape a bleeder in the 90 just before the slave... Anybody ever try this???
Re: Clutch problem, anybody else have this one???
just wanted to share what the problem was for anyone doing a search on this problem... The clutch fiction plate had cracks in it around the spring area making it warped and not disengaging from the flywheel or pressure plate... Problem fixed by replacing the clutch and pressure plate...
