Unhappy clutch problem

okay i installed a new slave cylinder and now it is not fully engaging the clutch. its like the clutch is slipping so i thought i would rebleed the cylinder and when i took it off the retaining clip (wich in the instruction said not to cut or discard that the first time the clutch was depressed that it was designed to break and leave a coshin for the rod.) was still intack just like when i bought it. do u guys think that maybe the master cylinder does not have enought pressure to break the retaining clip?

some one please give me some info or idea. thanks
