Clutch Problem?

This morning my car was driving fine. I went to shift and when I did, I sort of felt a slight pop in my clutch and the peddle went directly to the floor. There is absolutely no feeling in the clutch at all, if you press it it just goes to the floor. Do any of you have a clue from this brief description as to what broke? Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Clutch Problem?

It sounds like it could be either of two possible failures. Either something mechanical broke in the clutch/hydraulics or a hydraulic failure. Is there any indication of fluid leakage from master/slave cylinder area? I guess if it were me, I'd unbolt the slave cyliner from the bellhousing and check to see if the release fork is still in place and pushing against the throwout bearing. If thats all good, then I'd start looking at the hydraulics. Could even be a broken clutch pedal. But I'd think that would be the least likely thing that could break. Good luck.

Re: Clutch Problem?

Thanks for the info. I think I'm going to get it towed to the shop today.
