Clutch Peddle Position?

Where should the clutch peddle be when the clutch starts to ingage? Mine's in the top 1/3 of the stroke, is this right? It's a Spec Stage 3 with a Spec Billet Steel FW.

Thanks.

Do you have a Spec Billit Flywheel?

Its normal on a performance clutch. The other 2/3 area is dead space.

Might want to check this out if you want to eliminate the dead area:

What I'm really worried about is it NOT fully ingaging. The Maddog clutch i took out was wore around the outer edge of the clutch disk and the PP was concaved. the peddle felt the same way with it and the stock FW turned 12 thousands.
Also the plastic straps that hold the shaft in the slave are broke, would that make a differance?
thanks

That strap is to make install easier. It is supposed to be broken to work properly. More wear around the outer edge of the disk and FW is normal. Engaging should not be a problem. If your foot is off the pedal, it should be engaged.

The PP is warped like it was pulled on some all the time and with the heat of it slipping made it stay that way........ I'm going to call Spec today and see what they say......
I dont want to destroy my new FW and PP it was ALOT of money to get it here in Canada.....

The stage 3 disk is Hell on the flywheel and PP. My Spec 3+ works great all around but when I recently had it out to replace a TOB that broke, I noticed my FW and PP was discolored and hot spotted like crazy. It also had about .030" of metal totally worn off.

The aggressive friction surfaces perform well but do take their toll on parts.

Well i just got off the phone with Spec and they say they build them so they ingage at the top of the stroke.. So wrd1972 you where RIGHT.... Sorry for doubting you, but it is alot of money...LOL... this is a good STICKY for the clutch section, because I searched and searched and found NOTHING on this.
