Another thought re. Master Cylinder and insufficient pressure. Take a look at the thread in this forum on broke slave cylinder. I broke mine and so far 2 others have done the same. Apparently there is enough pressure generated in the MC to destroy the slave so there has to be enough to operate a pretty stout clutch too.
