"Clink" when the car shifts or gets put into gear

Everytime I put the car into gear it makes a "clink". I thought it was the ujoint and it is in the shop now. They replaced the ujoint and said it still made the noise. They replaced only one and said the other looked new. Now they are having the driveshaft tested to see if it is balanced. Is there anything else it could be? The guy scared me when he said it could be the tranny. I highly doubt it because there is no way such a clean "clink" is coming from inside a housing. Could it be the tranny mount?

Re: "Clink" when the car shifts or gets put into gear

Is it a "clink" or a "clunk". I had this problem...mine was a "clunk" a few years back. I changed the tranny mount, torque arm mount, u-joints....none of it helped. Turned out the bolt connecting the panhard bar to the frame on the right? side had jumped a few threads. I replaced that bolt, and the problem was gone.

If it's just a "clink".....I don't know what to tell ya.
