Clicking noise while in reverse

Car: LT1 w/ T56 tranny, LS1 driveshaft, stock rear end and 3.42 gear.

I have noticed that when im backing up in reverse up my driveway, I hear a click as Im letting out on the clutch or sometimes and the car starts to move. I dont really notice this sound while letting go of the clutch going forward. Im not sure if its coming from the clutch or other part of the drivetrain. Otherwise, the car behaves normally. Anyone else have this noise?

mike.

I had the same problem and I had to have my driveshaft replaced. I don't know how a drive shaft would make that noise. I thought it was the U-joints but when I replaced the drive shaft with the same u-joints the noise was gone.

hrmm. strange. When I installed the LS1 driveshaft, I had a new u-joint put in on the side that goes to the rear end.

Sometimes the brake pads can shift when you're in reverse causing a minor click.

Mook99TA, driveshafts come with U-joints, are you saying you had your original U-joints transferred to your new driveshaft
