Question Check out the pics of my input shaft & TOB...

The throw out bearing broke at the track during a 5k launch. I am assuming that the broken ring from the TOB somehow broke the input shaft while spinning around in there.

My question is, is it ok to use the input shaft with a new TOB? or do I need to replace the input shaft? I am not sure how critical the damage is.

Thanks for your help.

The part that is broken is not actualy an input shaft. The input shaft is the shaft with teeth on it. That collar is a separate piece and I'm pretty sure you will have to pull the tranny apart to replace it. Sorry. It doesn't look good.

I would not try it unless you replace that housing. Just aint worth it.
What condition is the PP and disk in?
Was the transmission torqued to the bell properly?

I wasnt sure if that collar was part of the shaft or not. I have never had a t-56 apart before. Is it part of the front cover?

The clutch and pressure plate are good.

I was told the tranny has to come apart.
I had a T5 on a Mustang that simply unbolted from the front, too bad its not that simple.
