changing m6 tranny gear ratios
i have a 93 tranny with the following ratios:
1st-2.97
2nd-2.07
3rd-1.43
4th-1.00
5th-0.80
6th-0.62
i like the ratios of 1st, 2nd, & 3rd, but would like the 0.74 5th gear & the 0.50 6th gear that the 94 & later m6's came with.
a friend has offered me the desired 5th & 6th gears out of his old 96 tranny, plus he has offered to install them.
is this tranny gear change possible?

The 5th and 6th gear is one piece so that would work out fine for you. (You also need to change the countershaft, lol. You won't even have to take off the front cover, just the tailshaft. Should only take like 30 mins with the right tools.

Get a donor tranny and swap the output shaft and countershaft with the 93 one. Keep all the gears in the tailhousing though.
