centerforce clutch options please help
I'm doing the t56 swap and i'm running a little low on cash should i use the used centerforce clutch that came with the swap? I'm not sure how good of shape this clutch is in. i have access to it but i don't know how to tell if it's in good shape or not.
heres a picture of it if anyone can even tell me what kind of centerforce clutch this is that would be nice thanks
any posts would be nice if you have a guess or clue what kind of clutch this is please post to me thanks.

Re: centerforce clutch options please help
no clue what kind it is but think about this, wounln't it be better to have a good clutch in there now, rather then have to tear it all apart again if that one sucks?
Re: centerforce clutch options please help
yah i thought about that a lot and just wasn't sure if i wanted to spend the money on a new clutch right now, definetly if the clutch i have right now isn't totally warn out.
the t56 swap and collection of swap parts drained me

It looks like the Dual frictoin clutch. If it doesnt look to beat up, just use common sense, then i say throw it in and if it blows then get a new one no real harm, might have to get your flywheel reserfaced.
Re: centerforce clutch options please help
If I'm not mistaken the friction disc on the dual-friction clutch has brass pads between every other asbestos pad. I can't tell from the pics, would need a shot of the disk face flat.
P.S. If replacing the clutch is not a big deal to you then I'd throw it in there.

Re: centerforce clutch options please help
In my honest opinion; It's not gonna cause any more normal ware or damage than a brand new friction disc would. When you replace a clutch disc you should have the worn fly-wheel resurfaced anyway so I say, use it till it needs replaced then just have the flywheel resurfaced.
Oh, by the way those dual friction clutches are only sold as an assembly, meaning when you replace it you must buy the disc & pressure plate they are a matched set.
