CC306 4.10's 4L60E ,4.10's too much?

My car is mostly stock, will be putting in the CC306 , headers,52 or 58mm TB, 3200 stall. I have most of the parts, will the 4.10 rear gear be too much for somebody that's not too picky about MPG , I've rear through a lot of the forums here and didn't really find a good answer,a lot of specs though. I really want to get my 1/4 mile time down but don't want to kill the top end ....some lose of top end is ok, I have 3.42's , the question is 3.73's ,4.10's or stay with the 3.42 with the mods that will be added

go with 3.73...4.11s will be too much in my opinion. You will lose too much top end with an auto.

4.10's are what i was thinking,i've seen such small differences between the 323 and 373 , so i think that goingfrom the 342 to 4.10 shouldn't be too bad a jump considering the gearing in the trans

Maybe but you could go with a 28" tire if it is.

If you are serious about getting good 60 foot times, then the 4.10's with taller sticky tires will do the job, (suspension work will help also). Remember, the more of a fore & aft "footprint" you have, will help in acceleration.

Do you mean front and rear contact of footprint as compared to how wide a print. larger fore and aft due to larger diameter tire? but not nessesarily wider

Chances are you will hit 4th before the end of the 1/4 too, which might hurt you a little bit at the top of the track.
