Question Car Rolls Forward In Park

I have a quick question. I have a 98 V6 camaro and whenever I put it in park the car continues to roll forward unless I use the emergency brake. Is this a linkage problem or what? Kimi

Sounds like a linkage problem to me. You need to get the car up on jackstands (the rear off the ground), with the tranny in park and block the front wheels. Use a screwdriver to pop the linkage off the ball and watch closely to what happens to the linkage on the tranny. It will probably want to pop back into reverse. Try putting it into park while turning the driveshaft slowly. If it pops into park the problem is external, most likely the adjustment is off. Keep us posted on your findings.

If it rolls just a little, that's normal. If it never stops, that's not. If you need it, there is a cable adjustment procedure on my Tech Page.
