can't get m6 to fully seperate from motor

I was trying the pull my trans last night and everything went fine until i seperated the motor and trans, i disconnected all the wiring and the hydraulics and made sure the motor and the tranny were level with each other before i started to seperate them, trans is also in nuetral, shifter and everything is off, the tranny isn't getting hung up from anything on the outside. Anyway they came apart about 2-3 inces and won't come any further, can't figure out what's holding them together and don't want to risk breaking anything. Am i forgetting something?

You need to disengage the clutch fork. Just pull it out, you will feel it unclick, then it should seperate.

Yup, pull on the clutch fork and they'll slide right apart.

As said above...pull out on the fork.
I will say mine was a bear to get to pull out so you might have to muscle it.
Not sure why it was so difficult but it eventually released.

I was in the same boat on the weekend. I had the GM manual so I popped it open and it said to pull on it. I thought that was kinda odd, and it required a little upmph, but eventually it seperated real easy.
