Can my car's 10 bolt handle 4:10's??
Well, I finally got my car up and going (street legal almost now haha) and I'm really not liking how it's geared. I assume its the stock gears, M6, probably 3.23's or something around there... 60mph, 5th gear is like 2000RPM's or less, 6th is useless under 75MPH, and I never drive where the speed limit is that high, or that fast unless I'm getting on it .
Anyways, my question is if the stock rear-end can handle 4:10's at my rather low power level comared to some guys on this board. I've heard every answer, thought I'd get some opinions from you guys before I buy anything. I usually go pretty easy thru 1st and hit it hard in second or at the top of 1st, i'm not much one to try to do burn out's all day long and have no plans of going to the track anytime soon, I just want a lot more tire breaking loose ability while moving (I promise, its not a burnout if you're moving a decent speed before you start spinning )...so I THINK 4:10's will be ok but again, what do you guys think? Thanks!

You should be fine with 4:10's in your car if they are set up correctly and your just running on the street. If you get them a few good things to do to strengthen it up are to use a solid pinion spacer instead of the standard crush collar, get a rear support cover with preload studs like a TA cover and use a
stud kit.
That's what I did when my 4:10's were installed and it's still holding up fine with around 75 hard passes at the track on drag radials and I'm a little over 400hp at the motor, this is with an SLP clutch.
stud kit.

They have a kit for $400 that has gears, fluid, stud kit, and support cover. You just need to buy the $20 or so solid pinion spacer seperate, also from Thunder. If you have never ordered from them, they are GREAT
