I have a 95 z28 with a mild cam and basic bolt ons. The car is an automatic, and when i launch the car from a stand still it just doesn't seem to want to shift to second. I have been braking the rebuilt motor in the last couple of months and i took it out the other night to see what it would do. I left the car in overdrive hammered the gas and lit the tires up, the car got up to around 40 mph and 5700 rpm and would not shift, i had to lift off the gas for it to go into second. Any ideas?

 

I'm having the same problem, I just dropped my trans pan and changed out the filter. My fluid looked really black, Haven't got fluid put back in it yet , I will know tomorrow if it did any good EDIT : still have to let completely out of the throttle for the car to shift. not at just WOT but everywhere.
