Burnout with a 4l60e

1996 4l60e programmed to shift manually
So I have been told by a good friend and tranny builder to start the burn in manual second (tuned to start in second gear) shift then roll out in third. Would it be bad if I started in second then preceded to roll out?

If this is a wet burnout (at the strip) this would be okey. I would just start in 1st but don't redline then go to 2nd then to 3rd and rollout, with a light throttle (if the tires bite too hard it causes a severe shock to the drivetrain). my .02c
