Building a 4L60E for N20

Well my 4L60E is finally dying! it will no longer shift from 2-3rd under wot and is slipping a bit so I think its time for and a stronger built 4L60E to handle the added power, can anyone recomend a shop or person that knows what they are doing with this trans because I wann get it done right so it will be as strong as possible for 4L60E,

also what parts are upgraded and or changed in order to beef up this trans?

and what kind of money am I looking at for a quality build up?

Thanks!

If you don't mind sending it to MD, I would recommend Frank Cahall from CPT he did mine and a few others on here. Dirk's (RacinLT1) trans from him lasted a few years of low 11's on N2O.

link in my sig!

I am got the race rebuild, w/o the options that he lists on his site. I know that his car has it all!

I am lucky that I am pretty close, Philly, PA - Elkton, Md, is a little more then an hour drive, and he let me see what he was doing. Everything was ripped apart inspected cleaned and then inspected again. Then everything except the "hard parts", were replaced. I was asking a ton of questions as to what all the parts were and how they worked. You would be suprized at all the parts in a trans? I would never have guessed! He used a lot of High performance parts and also relaces some of the factory parts that are not up to his standards with better ones.

Oh yeah as far as price it was great considering a local tranny shop (cottman) quoted me $1000, for a basic rebuild, and they said since I had rubber on my quater panel, they would recommend a performance rebuild and that would be "getting pricey" some friends on the message boards told me about Frank, and now I am returning the favor, he is a good guy and a great builder. I have never seen anyone be that **** when dealing with other peoples stuff, I worked on cars when I was younger, and he suprised me with the care he put into his work.

Thanks alot for the info!

I sent Frank and email with all the questions I had, just waiting for a response from him and LT1Dave so i can compare notes,

I am not worried so much about price as I am about durability
I want something thats gonna take a Licking and keep on ticking.

That must've been the long distance call that someone didn't leave a messege for?...LOL. I can't actually advertise prices here, but it's all layed out on my wen page. http://www.geocities.com/cahallperfo...sions/CPT.html
Go to pricing/700/4L60E. As John stated, I have these in cars running as quick as 11.0 on 175 shot of juice. The 60E is actually a pretty good performance transmission IF it's built correctly.
