Broken throw out bearing tabs & retainer
Broken throw out bearing tabs & retainer
I have broken 3 retainers and tabs on throw out bearing ever since I changed bell housings. Went from stock to the SFI Mcloed. I had to machine a litle off the pivot so the clutch fork wouldn't hit the pp. Is it possible that I machined off too much ? don't think that would cause it but open for suggestions. I'm switching over to the Mcoed twind disc rather than the single that I had and want to resolve this problem. thx,
dont want to sound like a noob, BUT, don't know how to post pic. retainer is gone and the 3 little tabs that hook the retainer are broken. talked to Billy @ Mcloed and has never heard of this, talked to D& D transmissions and same there. everything goes together nice, pedal feels fine , but within 10 minutes of driving( with new TO bearing) you can here the the the bearing rattle when idling with clutch pedal released, press on pedal goes away , pull apart and broken tabs on bearing and retainer broken in pieces.
the first one was bad and the last one still looks fine( using roller style) you can here the retainer actually break and rattle aroud in bellhousing with in the first 5 miles of driving. I did a search on shimming out the flywheel and really didn't find anything that might pertian to this. the flywheel has been machined twice. I putting in the Twin Disc with the new flywheel. Just frustrating , really can't see a reason why its breaking the tabs and retainer on TO bearing
