Which brand of gears do I use?
Ok, so I have been doing ALOT of reading on brands of gears. I am currently running stock 3.23 and have to replace my pinion bearing and thought, might as well upgrade to 3.73 gears at the same time. But here is the problem....Which brand of gears do I go with that will keep me on a budget, not whine and won't crap out on me in hte near future?? I know there are Precision, US Gear, SLP, Motive, Richmond, GM Motive as well as others. I fount on EBAY a set of Motive gears with install kit for $200 and really like the price, but I dont know how good they are. According to the website, they sponsor some racing, does that mean they are a really good brand??

GM, or Motive's are good..they are basically the same gear just with little differences from what i hear, i am looking for 4:10's and i am going with Motive's i think. i heard Richmond are too noisy

I have heard that too, but I have also heard that anything but GM will be noisy. The deal off EBAY so far can not be beat, gears with complete install kit (except wheel bearings and seals) shipped for $225!!

usually, they will say they are noisy due to the installer not setting the backlash correctly along with other settings. look what gears are in your car now...o wait GM! so why steer away from GM?
