Brand of gears?
Brand of gears?
I'm getting 3.73's and I just wanted to know what's the best way to go......I've heard Richmond gears aren't the best choice for the F-body, but I don't know how true that may be. Thanks for all the help, in advance.
Re: Brand of gears?
I am in the midst of putting Motive Gear 4.10s in an LT1 rear for a 3rd gen Camaro with a Detroit Truetrac differential. Motive's ad says that they are virtually bulletproof but with the 7.5 10 bolt it is a toss up.
Re: Brand of gears?
I came across SLP ring & pinion set on fbodymotorsports.com.......could this be good for me?

There's also a Moser ring & pinion available further down that page......for considerably cheaper.
And I would need the install kit, correct?

Re: Brand of gears?
More important that which brand of gears you run is how well they are set up. No true street gear is going to be that much louder than the next.
I run motive gear sets. The current set in my new 8.8" is silent. They were set up with a solid pinoin spacer. Ratio is 4.1/1

Re: Brand of gears?
I got a recommendation for Motive gears and install kit from Stripper Motorsports.........I called today and ordered me up a set. Should be here Monday or Tuesday.

And I heard from a shop guy that Richmonds make noise.....he uses them for race cars, but for primarily street cars, they're noisy.
