brake pads

whats up guys, i'm new to this board, I'm Ryan from jersey and i just got a 96 z28 rear end that I'm planning to put in my car. When i got it the brakes were rusted to hell so i got new rotors and pads. the pads have these sorta like clips on the top if them kind like a "T" and i figured logically they went in the slot on the caliper and the ends of car pad slid into the slots. but then my friend mentioned after i was all done that do these clips really go in that slot? because they would constantly be scraping the top of the caliper? i couldn't notice how the old ones were in there because when i took the caliper off they stuck to the rotor. can anyone give me a pic or something to show me how to put the pads in? i searched but couldn't really find anything. thanks guys

If I remember right, those clips are self explanatory. Just work with them till it is obvious that is the way they go.
