I did it. I used parts I got from work but you will get the idea. I also had a remote filter mounted to the frame rail on the driver side. Basically I swapped out the fittings in the trans for 45* pipe to flare fittings. I think I ran 6an lines and fittings. From the trans to the filter. Into the filter with a 90, out with another 90 to the stock cooler. This is where it gets tricky. The trans uses a flared line like a brake line. I mad some adaptors with 3/8" steel brake line (I think it was 3/8) and on the other end converted converted the flare to pipe, then pipe to JIC flare and attached the stainless lines. Did the same thing out of the cooler and looped to the front of the car to my second trans cooler. I bought a 28000gvw B&M coolaer because it had pipe thread. So I installed a few JIC fittings into there. Out of the B&M cooler and back to the trans. Came out very nice actually.

Now I custom made each line to the right length and all the fittings I "borrowed" from work. Its defiantely doable but your not going to get the parts at a Home Depot.

I always bypass the factory type coolers....I feel going thru all that extra and the extra fittings and angles restricts the flow...

this may help you a little with what I did http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...hlight=fitting

You should ALWAYS incorporate the factory cooler into the system. It shoukld be ran "in series" ...through the radiator, and then to the external cooler, and then back to the transmission. Water is a much better cooling medium than just air. This is why ALL automotive manufactuerers use the radiator to cool transmission fluid.
We won't warrantee any transmissions that aren't ran through the radiator.

If your car is a drag only car, you might be alright. It's just not a good idea to bypass the radiator on a street driven car.
