Blown LT1.. Go with a Used M6 or A4 or LS1

I have been told by the local shop my rod is bad in my car. Also the transmission is shot. So They gave me a price but I found a nice a4 for 1300.00 with 86k warrantied. And a m6 with under a 100k miles for 1500.00.. A LS1 I see them go for 2k-2,5k on ebay.. Whats your opinions guys? Mine was currently an automatic. I have a nos dry kit that will be going on the new motor also. How much more money is it to make my car an m6 if its already got the m6 tranny? Thanks for the help everyone!!!!!!!!!

There is a trans builder on this site that rebuilds those things to higher-performance spec. for close to the same amount that that used, stock a4 tranny is going for.

Im not going to rebuild it because it will cost too much to rebuild everything that needs to be done. They gave me an estimate of about 3000.00 of eveything the engine will need. I just want to buy a complete motor. My question is a a4, m6, or ls1 and why?

Haha.. I cant afford no car.. but wouldn't you think a a4 with a 2500 stall converter with nos be better than a m6 with nos?

I actually found a guy down the road he has a 1994 lt1 caprice wagon steel head motor.. What do you guys think of that? Is it the same hp and will mount just the same?

We have a few options for a short block rebuild, starting from $2500.00.
