BFG DR,+2800stall+mods=broke rear end?
BFG DR,+2800stall+mods=broke rear end?
i was wondering if anybody thinks my stock rear will give with the mods in my sig if i had a set of 275/40/17 bfg t/a drag radials and hooked good. would it help prevent breakage if i load it up good before i launch? (at the track) also, how sticky are these tires, will they probably get rid of my traction problems? i know i need suspensions also.
Re: BFG DR,+2800stall+mods=broke rear end?
i sure hope not! my trans shifts really hard at every shift in day-to-day driving and hooks up pretty good with 245/50/16 fuzion ZRI's they're a little thiner than most 245's but hook up good enough to make up for it, and the rear end... well it aint dead yet
.. mods on my car are true duals with bullet mufflers still on stock manifolds
and a K&N cai plus the trans is fresh. and my dads car an 83 Z28 still has the stock rear end --well nearly stock 3.73 dana gears but other than that stock-- and is now pushin about 500+ hp to the ground with an LS1 through a TH-350, considering his stock rear is still ok i would think yours could handle it.

Re: BFG DR,+2800stall+mods=broke rear end?
The stock rear should last behind an Auto tranny.
Its the 5500 RPM side step the clutch lauches and traction that kill them.
Thats not to say it won,t happen but I have the stock rear with 3.73s, LTs, Stall, and DRs. the rear is still alive.
A friend here in KC was running low 12s/high 11s with the stock rear and it never gave up (auto tranny)
Some people have killed them with an auto and few mods but from what I have seen they last alot longer behind the automatics than they do the 6 speeds.
