best place to take t-56 for viper conversion?

I have a 96 t-56 trans and I twisted the output shaft in it
So, I need to have it upgraded to hold some power because its only going to go up i hope And i dont want to go auto because the whole reason I bought this car was because it was a stick.

So anyway I would like to see where you guys would reccommend to go to have it rebuilt with nothing but the best parts to hold up to some power because i want to eventually run 10's with this car and Iwant to do it shifting I already have the clutch (street twin) and the rear end (moser 12 bolt with all the goodies) and I have all spohn suspension peices in the back and well thats about it

Thanks Steve

D&D Performance wanted

800 for the viper conversion

50 for the steel shift fork

150 for new syncros

250 for labor

plus about 300 shipping both ways from vegas

Is This The best place out there for the t-56 or is there a better place. I just want to make sure the best company builds this thing because I really dont want to have to spend another couple grand to repair this bad boy again

Thanks Again Steve

There is also a place called Donato Engineering that builds T56 for Viper GTS/R race cars. Do a search for Donato in the LT-1 Tech section and you will find the phone number, they are also located in Michigan.

In all honestly I have never delt with them but have had some friends that have gotten trannies from them and/or parts and never had a problem. If anything ever goes out on mine then thats who will be rebuilding it.

The one thing I can say is that they were one of the 3 places that Borg Warner had suggested to do work one the T56 when it first came out so its not like they just started doing this. (The other 2 being Auto Gear in NY, and Midwest Truck and AutoParts in Chicago....I don't know if they are both still around or not)

I've met and spoken with Donnie Walsh and he's a very stand up guy and always willing to help out. Another plus in my book as far as a company to do buisness with.

I called Donato Engineering today and talked to.....umm i cant remember his name off the top of my head but he said "we build some of the strongest viper trannies on the market"

their price we almost identical to D&D's prices also

So I guess its just a matter of preference.
I wish donato had a web site and not just a phone number so I didn't feel like I was sending a few grand to a place sight unseen But, The person I spoke with was very informative and answered a lot of my questions better than D&D though It didn't seem like I was bothering them like when I spoke with the sales person at D&D.

I guess I will have to do some more research and see some more people opinion and experiences and go with the best shop from that

Thanks alot for your help

Please feel free too keep responding by all means all responses greatly appreciated

From what i hear D&D is the best. PM taner and ask him as he just had his done there and he runs in the 9's with his M6. If you are in IL. why dont you drive it up here and drop it off ya cant be more than a couple hundred miles from them. Steven

What kind of price did Donato quote you to rebuild your T-56? Did the quote include labor prices? I got an email from them with parts prices but no labor prices.

Here is what Donato wanted to charge me

250 for labor standard rate

750 for the viper conversion

125 for the syncros

45 for the shift fork

and 300 shipping back and forth

the had some additional options though

150 for 3-4, 5-6 shift fork shift pad made of feldspar(sp.?) ie. Super hard plastic

300 cryogenically freezing the gears output and input shaft

I think thats about it

I wish i could take this thing up to michigan for a road trip but i live in las vegas now it would be quite the trip lol

thanks guy for your help
