OK, I HAVE A 94 Z-28 WITH AUTO TRANS. I JUST PURCHASED THE CAR AND WHEN I GIVE IT FULL THROTTLE IT REVS UP TO AROUND 6000 OR WHEREVER THE REV LIMITER KICKS IN, AND THEN IT SHIFTS AFTER IT REV LIMITS FOR A SECOND OR TWO, HOWEVER THIS IS HORRIBLE ON ACCELERATION. MY ONLY IDEA IS THAT IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN PROGRAMED TO SHIFT AT A HIGHER SHIFT POINT BUT WHOEVER PROGRAMED IT SET IT TOO HIGH. ANY IDEAS?

i think it's the:



*clutche's

*that sensor on the side of the tranny.



well that's what i think.

 

I think you could either get it reflashed w/ a stock prog. and see if that fixes the problem.. or.. borrow a buddies pcm and see if that fixes it... If not it's your car! If it does.. you can probably have pcmforless cut you a program to fix this or do it yourself w/ Lt1edit or Tunercat.. This is not uncommon.. you can also raise the rev limiter to like 6400 or so and it might shift!

 

it could be tranny slippage, or perhaps the previous owner had a higher stall put in, but didn't get proramming to correct the shift pionts, could be a number of things. Is there an aftermarket ignition system in the car? Like and Accel or MSD...

 

Start looking for a trans now. same thing happend to me then the trans puked in a months
