I'm also looking for this info. I just picked up a 93 T56, and I want some info on setting up the speedo, etc.

Shouldn't be any different I wouldn't think. The only wiring difference I can think of would be the CAGS hook up, and that doesn't matter. Other than that the reverse light switch and everything else will be in the same place I'd assume.

93 uses a cable speedometer vs a computer one though, right? Is there a hookup for that on the tranny?

I know a guy that put a 97 trans in his 93 Z28. He had to get the VSS pigtail to wire the manual trans to the car, so his speedo worked.

should all be pretty much the same...reason he did it I think is because of the speed density and different gear ratios on the 93 T56...but all it all its pretty simple...

Thanks, when I get a clutch and flywheel, can i just bolt it on or does it have to be balanced to my specific motor? I have a stock LT1 now, but an internally balanced 383 is going in in the next few months

well...I believe the stock has to be zero balanced for the stock LT1...when you go into the 383 internally balanced, Im not sure. Call up McLeod, Spec, or centerforce and ask them...they will be able to give you a better answer. or call whatever company you are going to buy your clutch set up from. I went with the McLeod Street twin kit with the 0 balanced steel flywheel...and it worked fine. But unless you are doing some heavy racing, I wouldnt recommend it...especially if you do lots of stop and go driving. But if you want to strengthen up your left leg...then i say go for it...My left leg is solid...haha Good luck...message me if you got any questions when you do the install...

Yes...and the VSS pigtail is needed...and I think you will also need the ignition switch for the M6 as well...been awhile since I did it...but Alex's site is pretty thorough with part numbers and all...

93 T56's were the fastest of all fbody t56's. but I heard they were a tad weaker, anyone?

Re: auto to manual on a 93 LT1?

There were in fact 3 different t56 trannys. The first gear ratio determined the torque capacity. The 93 trannys were 350 and 400 ftlbs and the 94 up were 450. The lower tha capicity the more desireable the ratio. The strenght to ratio has to do with space limitations of the 85mm(i think) shaft center to center distance of the tranny! Im actually sorta looking for either 93 t56 right now.
