auburn diff

my friend has a unused (still in the box) auburn differential that he bought on sale for $265. He said i could have it for $250. Would it be worth it, with the modds in my sig. I tried to find a zexel torsen but, their hard to come by (with low miles). I was told to go with a detroit locker but they are $520.

thougts please.

I thought auburn was what came in every camaro or firebird that didn't go to slp for a zexel. I have a zexel in my ws6 and when I do my rearend i'm gonna go with a eaton or a auburn as they are suppose to be stronger for 1/4 mile cars,

What series of auburn? I run an Auburn pro series in the 10 bolt in my 3rd gen. The pro series has the high bias cone's. It doesnt like the rain to much but other than that it works great. It's alot stronger and i trust it a whole lot more than my old stocker than i coincidently blew up.
