yeah mine pops out as well. sometimes it won't but most of the time i have to take it really easy backing out... little to no throttle, hold it in to gear. sometimes i can't find reverse and i have to roll forward a little to get it to open up. i guess the synchros are toast.

Reverse isn't synchronized, so its always going to be the hardest to get into. Try this: double-clutch into reverse, but before actually shifting, wait for a second with the clutch disengaged before you move the shifter into reverse. That should allow your transmission gears to stop spinning and it will be easier to move into reverse.

For what it's worth the t-56 troubleshooting guide Table 1-1
for Problem : jump out of gear (reverse)
Reverse lockout assembly or solenoid malfuction.
1)Checkout the lockout assembly.
2) Dissasemble and replace reverse gear and blocker
