Trans mount is brand new, but I recently got the trans rebuilt so I took everything out (torque arm etc..) and put it back in. Something makes a clunk noise in the following situations:
Say I'm on a sharp hill incline and I go to get it into gear real quick and give it a lot of gas to avoid rollback, I will get a clunk once the car unloads and starts going foward.
Just yesterday I punched it from a 15 mph roll and the tires started to spin, once I let off and they caught back traction I got a clunk again.
Is this my torque arm mount or what? I tried tightening it more and it doesnt seem to do anything?

make sure the torque arm is completely in... i had the top bolt rip out of the tranny and had to tap it and put in a larger bolt... caused the torque arm to come out of the top of the mount and hit the floor pan... also double check the trans mount

i cant think of too many other things that would clunk unless your motor mounts are going or your exhaust bangs against the floorboards when shifting

It definitly is in all the way, I could feel it and see it when it poped between the rubber mounts. Is the TA suppose to be able to slide in and out a little where it hooks up the trans cuz there is evidence of this happening by there not being dust on parts of the ta.Originally Posted by Pyrodawg

i know i had a similiar sound i ended up screwing my motor mounts up and whenever it torqued up my collectors would hit the floor making a clunk type sound. a trans mount if it was bad would normally vibrate like crazy and make a god aweful clunking sound.
those are my two problems ive had with clunking coming from driving and when ready to shift into the following gear.
