alum. or stick w/stock DS after engine install?
look at what i'm doing in my sig. i know it's not massive but i thought about buying a ls1 DS but have been reading that when you start adding power it's better to stick to steel
also when i get my 12 bolt should i just take and cut my DS to fit or order one that's made. b/c i know a couple buddies just cut their stock one to fit and havent' had any probs. and that's been a lot of passes down the track and daily driving
BTW what i'm doing to the car is already in my sig. b/c it's been sent off right now in progress
thanks

If you're making enough HP to need a 12-bolt, its a good idea to upgrade the DS. If you want to try it with the stock steel shaft and are trying to decide between 4.10 and 4.56 gears (your other post), its likely that the stock steel DS will present a huge vibration problem at high RPM. The aluminum shafts are limited on HP capabilities, particularly with hard launches on an M6. And, if you are looking only at the Moser 12-bolt or 9-inch (your other post), you will probably need a shorter DS anyway, so why not just get a heavy duty DS and get over it.... Denny's "nitrous ready", the Spohn HD DS, etc are all cheap and strong.
