For all you guys that have a 9 inch hitting the floorboard, I found the problem.

On most torque arms that are made for a 9 inch, they are also made for a 12 bolt. They come with 2 sets of mounting holes...my Spohn does anyway. The inside set of holes needs to be cut off and the arm will move inward towards the center of the car and away from the floorboard where it turns upward. It will also make the arm straight and parallel with the driveshaft.

Make a line directly through the middle of the inside set of holes on the mounting bracket and cut that portion off. This will guarantee fit.

OR

Make a line on the inner most edge of the holes, cut it off and grind to fit.

I am glad to know since I'll be putting a 9" together this winter. I say post up some pics.

Hmmmm
BMR told me not to worry about using th stock tq arm bolt holes = unparallel d/s and arm - as long as the rearend is centered (we talked about this before.)
Is your d/s angled toward the pass side as it goes from trans to rear pinion?
So now your tq arm is angled as well?
Pics like I posted of the tunnel showing the d/s and arm would be good to see.

My tq arm and driveshaft are parallel now, I actually got out my instructions to my Spohn arm...says to use the outermost holes in the instructions...Guess I should have read them LOL.

my rear came out of a car using a Spohn mounted with the outer holes too.

Curious - they are prallel - but is the d/s still aimed from the trans output toward the pass side to meet the rear pinion? Just wondering if your rear has the same axle offsets as mine causing the pinion to be slightly off center to the pass side
