I was in a pontiac dealership today and they had a new GTO sitting in the showroom so i sat in it and played around with the clutch and felt the leather and so on...

My question is are all LS1 clutches (z28,trans am, corvette, etc) that stiff to push in and have that long of travel to push all the way in?

 

I had to move my seat up a little so it was easier to mash that heavy thing to the floor. All I can say is my 99SS is exactly how you described.
