ABS and 12 bolt
ABS and 12 bolt
Considering fabbing up a 12 bolt rather than handing out $2400 for one.
is there a way to delete the rear channel from ABS while retaining funcitoning abs for the front wheels? I don't mind deleting it since the car's only a sunny weekend car, but just curious.

Re: ABS and 12 bolt
If you delete the rear channel on ABS, it kinda defeats having ABS. The rear wheels can lock up all day long and the ABS controller wont have any idea what's going on. It will only be able to tell if the rt front is going faster or slower than the lt front. To do it you'd have to duplicate the front signal and feed that to the rear channel.
Just do a sensor set-up like they rig on the 9" rears. Get a reluctor machined that press fits on the rear end yoke and mount the ABS 3rd channel prox the proper distance and Bingo, ABS on a 9" or home fabbed 12-bolt or whatever. A search for 9" and ABS should find the thread I got that from.

Re: ABS and 12 bolt
ABS won't work on half the car as mentioned above. Just delete the whole thing. SJM Mfg, has a kit that removes all the junk and works great. It also includes a line lock as well as a proportioning valve in the pre-made kit. Check out the kits located at www.sjmmanufacturing.homestead.com.
