A4 won't go into park

I just installed my rebuilt tranny and it won't go into Park. The shifter is there, and it starts, but the car will roll. Possible linkage issue? Thanks in advance.

Check that the small bracket is bolted in place properly on the driver's side of the transmission where the shifter cable mounts (just behind the shift linkage on the transmission). I believe there is a means of adjusting the cable there as well? Regardless though, that bracket became loose on my friend's '96 Trans-Am, and he couldn't get his car into park either. All I had to do was get under the car, tighten that bracket back up (I think 1 of the 2 bolts had fallen out! ) and his shifter worked properly again.

Hope that helps?

I simply forgot to tighten the nut on the bolt that shifts the tranny. Oops! It's all good now. Thanks for the replies.
