Approximately what RPMs do you pull around 80-90 MPH in overdrive???

I hadn't driven my car in a while and I took it on the highway today and it stays right around 3000 RPMs b/w 80-85 MPH. I held the accelerator and tapped the brake to make sure the converter is locking up, seems like it is. I also pulled the shifter into D to make sure it wasn't lagging in 3rd, and it wasn't. Fluid clean and red

My M6 with 3.42s pulls like 2000 RPMs in 6th at the same speed...

Is this about the same as everyone else? Has it just been too long since I've driven the car and I'm not used to it? Just feels like it needs one more gear!!!

Compare it to the calculator at www.f-body.org/gears/

 

I seem to remember it being about 2800 RPM at that speed.

 

That gear calculator is awesome, looks like both cars are right in line with the calculations...

Yeah, I'm right around 2900-3000rpms around 80mph so you're fine....with the cutout open she screams

 

Mine's pretty loud as it is with the exhaust I have.

I haven't installed the cut-out on that car but I'm looking forward to it!
