A4 Gears
A4 Gears
I have done a search for this but can't find what I am looking for. I have 3.23 in my A4 right now. I have heard from a few people that the 3.23 are better than the 3.73's I don't have a stall and don't know when I will be getting one but my rear needs a rebuild. Would I be better off staying with 3.23 or should I upgrade to 3.73's? Would I see much of a difference? I do a little of everything with the car, drag auto-x and its a dd so I can't really narrow it down to what I want to do with it. Any help is greatly appriciated.
what are your other mods? not to sound like a broken record which sometimes i do, but if i hadn't gone with 3.73's, id still be a slug. i didnt have 3.23's, rather 2.73's and the cam was too much fo rthe gear. i am still stock tc.
lightly modded, id say dont bother changing out the 3.23's yet. if you are going to go with a higher rpm stall, fine. 3200-3600 is popular just dont be habitually brutal on it or plan on a new rear, especially if you have sticky tires. id say put the money elsewhere. you might even be ok with 3.23's and a new stall tc anyway. only one way to find out.

Sure, do gears. I went from 3.23 to 3.73 and ive been enjoying it everyday i drive it.
I spent about 440 installed. Since it's a daily driver, I wouldn't go 4.10s, as it might be a little much.
