99 T-56 reverse lock out?

Dad is putting in a 99 T-56 out of a TA into his 89 iroc with a 383 stroker. Is there a way to bypass a reverse lockout without having an electronic speedO? If there is anyway to do it please let me know, of it the electronic speedometer has nothing to do with it that would be great to. Any insite to this subject is welcome, thanks.

It's just a solenoid so as long as you apply 12vdc on one terminal and ground on the other, it will energize. Use a switch.

I really like the T56 in the 98, so I'm thinking of putting one in my 71. Or a TH200r4; the TH350 suxx.

why would you want to bypass the lockout?

just use a small black button where your LEFT hand can press it easily. and tap the 3rd brake light source for power..

I have a T-56 in my '68. I just muscle it into reverse. Works fine this way. As long as I don't go into reverse on the highway, I'm happy!

uhh. wait a tic.

you have a LT1 and T56 in a 68?

your computer is setup to activate the lockout. all you have to do is wire it in. you have the parts, why not save the hassle and use them?

I'm not using the factory PCM. I'm running a DFI gen 7 setup.
