my 98 28 has a noise problemin the rear axle i know i have to replace the pinion seal but my concern is the howling noise i hear . I also makes a loud bang when i get on it hard any suggestions on what to check

Had a bent axle and made a lot of noise. All I had to do was jack the rear up a little and put the car in drive. It was very obivious. Also had the torque bar break and it would clunk when driving. Bad u joints can make clunking noises. Just need to move the drive shaft and see if there is extra play.
