Ok, so my 97 Z28's transmission died...
I found a guy who was offering a really good deal on rebuilt GM transmissions, told him I had a 97 Z28, and he sold me a transmission....
Well, it turns out the transmission in question is for a 98! Or so it appears, as the 'new' transmission is the detachable bell housing/5-bolt-tail-shaft variety.
Said 'transmission guy' insisted that I should just put it in - and that he would have the 'right parts' (as of now, the parts that DO NOT fit are: Tailshaft, tranny-mount crossmember, and the dust-guard (thing that bolts to the front of the bellhousing to protect the converter/flywheel)) to make the switch. For whatever reason, I did...
I'm posting this as a way of 'double checking' said transmission guy....
So, am I SOL, or can this transmission work in this car?
If it can work, what parts do I need?
Does anyone have a picture of a 98 Z28 or T/A crossmember?

I have been told it will not fit. I purchased an aftermarket 97 and it was fine. The 97 does not have the detachable bell housing. I have heard even the splines/front of an LS1 will not fit. I am certain the flexplate will not fit, they are two different part numbers.
BOL, but someone was not truthful with you as far as I can tell.
