97 Torque converter different?
97 Torque converter different?
is the stock 97 torque converter any different than the 94-96?
reason i ask is because of this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...sPageName=WDVW
i emailed him and he said:
"The 1997 and later had a different lock-up clutch in them. If you don't get the right one for sure, you'll start getting computer codes.
The only way to get the right one is to get the four letter code off of the stock one. These new style converters are about $50 more then the one you're looking at.
The one way around this is to make the necassary modifications to the valve body to eliminate this need."
but how come, if you go to ls1speed.com they're listed as:
93-97 LT1 TCI242800 TCI 4L60E Breakaway 12” Converter, 2600 Stall Speed, 2.34:1 STR
i dont plan on buying that TC on ebay, it's not a big enough stall, i was just wondering if the trannies are different.
