Re: 96 Z broke tran mount
Not saying that you do, but don't tach it up in neutral and then drop it into drive. That can and will break your mount.
Did you buy a polyurethane mount? If so, you're gonna have to live with the added noise and vibration.

Some references from Shoebox's website, re tranny mounts:

I'll move this to "Drivetain" where it should be posted.

Re: 96 Z broke tran mount
If you put in a poly mount the car will have a lot more noise and vibration for a little while. After a couple of thousand miles both will subside a lot. It still won't be quite as quiet as a stock mount, but it will be pretty close, or at least mine was, as well as a few other people on here.
Re: 96 Z broke tran mount
i broke 2 stock ones in like 4 months. Replaced it with the energy suspension poly one, and have had no problems whatsoever. Vibrations are slightly more, but its not bad at all. Its a camaro, its not supposed to be quiet. If you want quiet drive a bmw or something.
Give it some time and see if it will quiet down.
