just like the title says, i have a 97 ss lt1 with an auto and im lookin to buy another cheap lt1 4l60e so that i can send it in to CPT and have it rebuilt and then swap it when its done to minimize down time so are they the same or should i just not waste my time.

The speed sensor's are different, and the 94 trannys have tcc solenoids, i think and 97's dont.... u can just switch tailshafts with a obd1 tranny or convert to obd1

94 has only 1 TCC solenoid 95-> has 1 TCC solenoid and a PWM thats controls the lockup.
So if you buy a 94 4l60e you got to have a 94 file in youre pcm if you have a 95 file the pcm will noticed that you dont have the PWM and it will refuse to activate the TCC
