94 / 95 4L60E compatibility

I have a 94 Z28, and I need to pull my trans out for a repair. While the trans is getting repaired, I have a 4L60E from a 95 Z28 that I am going to put back into the car so it is driveable. Question is, are they compatible? I know it will bolt up and everything, but what about the electronics?

Re: 94 / 95 4L60E compatibility

Although I am not a tranny expert, I will try to help you. If I'm in error at least I tried.

To the best of my Knowledge, the '95 up trannys used a pulse width modulated lockup & the '94 used basic on/off lockup control.

I believe the '94 trans will not work properly with the PWM lockup of the '95 computer, but I believe the opposite ('95 trans in a '94) will work OK.

At least this is something to base your research off of.

Re: 94 / 95 4L60E compatibility

My friend's 95 had a 94 4l60e in it and it kept setting off tcc lockup solenoid code, but worked fine otherwise.
