Well my moser 9" will be here today. I ordered 31splines axles, Detroit Locker, 4:11 gears, H/D pinion support ,1/2 inch studs.

Im well aware of how to install it into the car and shorten the driveshaft if needed but what I was wondering if anybody could give me any insight on some WHAT TO DOs assembling the 9" and the berrings, etc....

Im using stock lCAs, PHB, and Tq arm for a month or two untill I restock the $$$$ supply.

 

Did you get it in yet? How is it working for you?

 

not installed yet!! Moser forget to send me my 1/8 inch axle spacers and my center section !! Center will be here today and spacers .......who knows?

 

That sucks. I bought mine from a guy who works at Thunder Racing. It was brand new and he bought a new car and didn`t need it. When I got it, it didn`t have the torque arm mount. When I finally got the mount, I had to grind on it for about an hour to get the torqe arm to fit on it.
I also didn`t get the spacers you are talking about. I guess that is why my brakes wren`t lined up correctly.

How did you end up lining up your brakes then?? Did you grind the backing plate/ caliper area down?? I would assume you would need to bring the caliper towarads the wheel since you did noe shim out the axle?? At this point Im willing to take the backing plates and have then ground down and say to hell with the axle spacers.

 

I ground the caliper mounting bracket. It wasn`t to bad , but I wish I would have had the spacers.
Have you tried the fit of the torque arm to the torque arm bracket?

Yeah I have the housing installed allready and I bolted up the Tq arm bracket and then bolted the Tq arm to it. It all fit like a glove much to my suprise !! Im still waiting on my shims and CENTER SECTION.
Im getting a little irritated now.
Do you have a locker in yours?? If so how do you like it??

 

I do have a locker in mine. I really have no complaints about it. Its not as smooth as a regular posi unit but not that big of a deal. I don`t think I would want it in an every day driver car.
Thats weird that your TA fit perfect. What kind do you have?

 

Tq arm is stock for now... Gotta wait for $$$$ to fall off the tree again . Well my car is not a EVERYday driver but I do drive it on the nights/weekends crusing and racing on the weekends with the occasional trips to drop the kid off at school!!
