700r4 TV detent cable install?

Okay, I simply pulled the old one out of the 700r4 without any problems at all. It seems too easy. IS there something in the tranny that I have to pull out and connect to the cable?

It's been a while since I have done one but there is a rod in the transmission that has a Z bend in it you have to hook the cable onto that.
If you can't get to it your going to have to take the pan off.

I did a google search and saw that little hook. I'm worried unhooked itself while I was routing the rest of the cable through the TPI runners.

I had to replace the thing with it in the car. that is a TIGHT fit with the fingers. I routed the cable down the back of the engine and made sure everything was lined up. Took a while. That way you do not have to mess around with routing it the rest of the way.

Everything is fine. The biggest PITA was getting the little screw tightened. I lowered the cross member and unhooked the exhaust mount and had just enough room to 1/8 turn the screw loose. But it works now, so I'm happy.
