The 5 prong is a 1993 TA only. You will need a wiring schematic for this to determine on what to do for the lockup. You can use the GM vacuum switch setup for this, if you have disabled the computer that controls lockup.

yea your correct , i did the research for it , and just incase anyone was wondering on the 5 prong connector , the terminal closet to the ft of the bellhousing needs a 12 volt source conneted to the cruise control switch "as an intrupptor to unlock the converter while breaking" to lock up in 4th gear , ill make a diagram and post it on here so people will have refrence

I am using a kit (made by TCI ~$75-$100) to control lockup on my 700r4 in my '95. It uses 3 switches wired in series. One is on if the tranny is in 4th. One is on if the brakes are not pressed. One is a vacuum switch that is on if there is vacuum present. If all of these criteria are met then the converter locks up. I actually left out the vacuum switch because no one could give me a good reason to use it.

Does anyone know why I should add it?

Dustin

The vacuum switch tells it to unlock the torque converter at low vacuum, and at high vacuum. It's when it is in between that it stays locked up.
