67 rear end????

hey guys
as you can see from the signature i got a new 408 stroker for the camaro and my GM 10bolt is shot. welds are broken and the housing is cracked.....

so i need a cheap replacement. going to need a 12 bolt for the strengh but can not go with a converted 9" due to the price

so where can i get a rebuilt 12 bolt that will fit my car?
what other modle cars have a rear that will fit?

thanks alot!

just trying to find some way out of paying 1800+ for a new rear

I'd be visiting Moser and Stange's sites and shooting them a call tomorrow. They should have something that drops right in.

Umm, do what I did and peice stuff together. I'll be putting a 9" into my car for less than $1k.

I bet you could find some stock 12 bolts that fit into your car easily.

Check out your local rear end specialists. I had the 3.07 open 10-bolt in my 67 coupe converted to 3.73 posi for a lot less than the cost of a new rearend. (Sorry, I can't recall the exact price because it also included powder-coating the housing and a disc brake conversion. )

See if you can find a 8.5" rear from a 2nd gen Camaro or Nova. They are strong, relatively inexpensive and will bolt in.

thanks for all the great advice
Fyi : motor made 504hp/522ftpd and i plan on running a 150shot of laughing gas or forced induction in the future so this new rear needs to handle that.....

12 bolt stuff from the older cars is getting hard to find and expensive as well . I'd expect to spend $800.00-$1200.00 for something decent and used .
